Sun / Shade
Full sun (they love warm soil)
The pot needs to be at least 20 litres with a depth of 30cm. One plant per pot works best. Glazed clay pots are ideal and should be placed in full sun. The soil should always be moist.
Water regularly so that the soil is always moist but never soaked.
They prefer warmer temperatures. Some plants can tolerate light frost but it is better to try and avoid frost. A position against a wall or a fence will improve chances of success.
Organic soil, warm, fertile and well drained.
Lettuce, Beans, Marigolds and Peppers.
Tomatoes should be picked off the vine as soon as they are ripe and eaten soon after picking.
Generally small green leaves with a rough texture and rough tortuous vines.
Plants are 35cm wide and should be placed 45cm apart. They should be staked once they are a foot off the ground.
Pastas, salads, soup, pizza, stews and breakfasts are just a few examples of the millions of ways to use tomatoes in a dish. They are an essential part of cooking and belong in every kitchen. P. S. Don’t forget about tomato sauce and fish fingers for the kids.
