Plant sage near carrots, strawberries, tomatoes and cabbage.
Harvest as needed by clipping just above the spot where 2 leaves meet. It’s best to harvest in the morning once the dew has dried.
Hazy pale green
As it grows into a round bush individual plants should be spaced at least 60cm apart.
Sage has a strong flavour, so a little goes a long way. Use it sparingly, especially if you are using dried leaves. Sage goes well with pork, chicken, beef or duck. Try Savoury sage stuffing, sage breakfast sausage or add it to prestos or Italian tomato sauces.
